'Connections'
Drumcondra Road Lower - Clonliffe Road, Dublin 9

I was Inspired by maps of the North side of Dublin and this artwork is showing the vibrant side of the North side of the city- Drumcondra, Phibsborough, Glasnevin as a few examples. The roads, rivers and the canals create a pattern that shows how we are connected, which is not unlike the stitching on a colourful patchwork quilt. The urban landscape is what I am showing in all its glory. I have chosen this location as I have become more familiar with Drumcondra in the last few years and I feel like the ABC building connects the local community to arts, culture and the environment. When people see this artwork, I want them to feel that these connections make the city a more vibrant place.
I am a mixed media artist and teacher based in Dublin. I am fascinated by patterns found in nature and the urban environment. I often draw upon these patterns as inspiration for my abstract paintings.
