This design was inspired by the All Ireland Pollinator Plan, whose mission is to create an environment where pollinating insects can survive and thrive. The use of pesticides and herbicides, the growth of urbanisation, advances in farming methods, and the effects of climate change have all led to the decline of insect pollinators, and many sadly, are faced with the threat of extinction. My design highlights the hard work done by our local pollenticians, who tirelessly work to pollinate our food crops and wild plants. These little creatures pollinate the food we need to survive and also many plants and trees which provide habitats for our wildlife.
I am a graphic designer originally from Galway but living in Lucan for 24 years. I have worked many years as both a freelance designer and an in-house designer, but in recent years focused on raising my family. I specialise in print design – posters, computer illustrations, as well as photo retouching and PowerPoint illustrations. I am also very passionate about gardening and nature, and a lot of my work features elements of nature.
