Artwork description:

This artwork depicts a game of roller derby, specifically a jammer making an ‘apex jump’ to avoid opposing blockers. This is an ode to the sport and skating in general but also to Dublin Roller Derby, which has been training in the nearby Inchicore Community Sports Centre for many years. The Dublin A-Team, known as The Mighty Dubs, use the chant “Athletic, Fair, Mighty” during games (a version without these words has also been attached).

Biography:

Katherine Foyle is a Dublin-based comics creator and illustrator also working in video. They love expressive hand-lettering and creating immersive stories in any medium. Outside of art, she likes to rollerskate and swim.
