'Tower island' is a mythical image depicting the ancient village of Clondalkin imagined as a floating island. the Magical river Camac that flows through Clondalkin village supplying it with clouds that sustain its flight. The design depicts the Round Tower, Tully's Castle and villagers houses with the river Camac snaking its way out of the 9th lock. The side panels display the Viking raiding ships coming in on the wind, a nod to the attack in the year 833.
I wanted to create an image that encompasses the striking ancient buildings of the early settlement, blending later building into the image, sparking the imagination, and/or creating the conversations about the actual origin and founding of the wonderful village I live in.
I work in Tesco Liffey Valley and have a Diploma in Classic and Computer Animation.
