Terenure has huge pride and passion for its sporting history that has existed for generations. It is strategically placed at the entrance to the school which is also a gateway to the local rugby club. In my piece ' Strive ' I hope to convey this sense of pride with a powerful image painted in a realist form. The role of the Carmelite community is represented by the wearing of The Scapular. The word ' strive ' I believe speaks for itself.
I grew up and live in Terenure. I am a graduate of the National College of Art and Design and work as an artist mainly on a freelance commercial basis, as I am still raising my family. I am also currently working on pieces with a view to exhibiting in the future, which will be a dream come true!
