SQUEEEEZE! We’ve all experienced the feeling of jumping onto a Dart or a Luas at peak commute timings and being squashed into a corner! Uncomfortable but ultimately happy as we managed to get a space. This artwork depicts the “squash and the squeeze” with eyes darting around but not really knowing where to look! This artwork celebrates the commute, it celebrates those moments and thoughts conjured during this intimate (because of proximity) but uncomfortable experience.
Take a moment to imagine you could draw your own world! Not unlike Simon, of the 1970's fame, I would love to think the things I draw come true... well they do in my mind anyway! Children's illustration has wormed its way into my passion hit list! I just love it! I enjoy the exploration of the blurred line between the imagined and the real in childhood. It’s those big or sometimes little moments of discovery, change and enlightenment that make it all worthwhile. Children's imaginations are limitless; as is the world it inhabits. I truly enjoy the freedom to create from my imagination, but most definitely pull from my personal experience and interests.
