The Tree of Life

This artwork sits at the corner of St Anne's Park, beside the beautiful "Tree of Life" sculpture by Tommy Craggs. It was important therefore that any new artwork here did not detract from, nor attempt to compete with, this much admired masterpiece. When I walk around St. Anne's park I love imagining the woodland animals going about their busy little lives alongside us. I thought it would be fun to depict some of Tommy's sculpted creatures living inside the tree and cosying down for the evening. The nature inspired colour scheme is in keeping with the parkside location of this box, with pops of red and white stripes as a reflection of the Poolbeg chimneys in the background here. I hope that my artwork will complement and enhance the story told in this beautiful tree sculpture and live happily beside it.
