'Penny Apples' is a colourful illustration that represents a market stand displaying all the typical products that can be found in an Irish market; e.g. salmon, flowers and the so-called 'penny apples'. I think that the colourful stand represents well the lively character of The Liberties, one of the most historic areas of Dublin, also well known for its markets. The smiley and sweet red-haired girl behind the counter is welcoming all the customers to buy her fruit and vegetables.
My name is Chiara, I am an Italian illustrator. I love drawing, photography, books (especially children's books) and travelling. 'Smell the flowers while you can' is my motto in life, that is why I decided to use it as a nickname to sell and promote my art online.
